Tramshed presents their first annual Found Arts Festival - a space for emerging artists to connect and challenge through seeing, doing, listening, discussing and creating.
The festival has been curated for anyone who identifies as an emerging artist in the performing arts industry, with or without training, and is aged 16+. Each day of the festival is designed to stretch creativity and equip participants with practical skills as well as allow space to discuss, connect and network with peers. This will be followed by a quality performance in the evening.
If you aren't an artist - don't worry! All our shows are open to the public, we promise to host a brilliant night of entertainment for an affordable price. You can book for events individually or grab a day ticket for only £10!

Telling & Sharing Stories to Change the World with Naomi Cortes

How do we discover our own stories, learn how to realise their true value and place them at the heart of our creativity so they can help us to change the world?
This will be a collaborative and exploratory journey with theatremaker and wordsmith Naomi Cortes. Using spoken word and visual language, personal and political approaches, and non-traditional methods of storytelling, artists will be empowered to explore their personal relationships with storytelling.
From initial memories of childhood stories to their ‘battle cries,’ as they demand to be heard in an ever-changing world, artists will be encouraged to think about how their own unique and authentic voices can aim to bring about change, not only personally but also on a global scale.
About Naomi:
Naomi is a commissioned writer with the Young Vic, her play Umtolo was written in Zimbabwe, exploring its legacy of Colonialism and Christianity. Not Bound Within is her battle-cry to the exploitation of black women both past and present - exploring the real life history of Saartjie Baartman, the Hottentot Venus and her crucial relevance today. Her first play The Littlest Quirky, a story of magic and self-discovery for young children was shortlisted for the Brian Way Award.
Naomi has created new work with companies including the Donmar Warehouse, the Kiln and Almeida theatres, as well as Graeae Theatre Company and Trinity Laban. Her inclusive approach engages young people from various backgrounds including Special Educational Needs and EAL. She is also a lecturer in Applied Theatre at Central School of Speech and Drama and is associated with various London schools who participate in her Primary Poetry and LAMDA Examination Programme.
In the name of theatre, she has bounced on trampolines, mischievously scrambled up wardrobes and emerged through secret trapdoors. Singing Zulu lullabies, she has gurgled greetings to other planetary creatures. And she has even leapt out of a giant’s hat and hung upside-down whilst cuddling a baby mugglewump!

Join us for an interactive panel workshop where you can meet industry experts, share ideas with your peers and hone those practical industry skills!
Theatre, as an artform, has had to adapt drastically during the pandemic. Join this interactive panel event where we explore the blending of artforms and media to stretch creativity and new ways of creating.
This event will include a screening of the participant-let short narrative film created during the Project Lockout Takeover Day on 4th March.
The panel will include:
Michael Lynch, Artistic Director of Project Lockout. Project Lockout are a physical theatre & mime company whose core artistic work stems from free-writing and movement. Project Lockout is a Resident Company of Tramshed for 2022.
Rosemary Richards, Director of Rosa Productions, a creative and media producer, festival director and cultural consultant. Current and recent projects include production of Bloomsbury Festival and Producer for City of Stories multi-media experience at the Story Museum. She is also a film-maker with awards for TV documentary and programme making.

An electrifying roar of fury, a rallying cry of protest & a unifying celebration of strength packed with heroism and heart. A dirty dive into the foundations of power, an injection of a new narrative. MEAT is a hybrid of gig theatre, poetry, drag, and dance featuring live original music.
Award-winning writer/performer/poet, Elle Dillon-Reams' debut show, HoneyBEE sold-out fringe festivals leading her to win Best Newcomer in 2019, and she has worked with Richmix, Arcola, Tristan Bates, amongst others.
Emer Dineen is a London-Irish multidisciplinary performer & sound artist; ‘a Deitrich - esque cabaret star’ as described by The Stage. She has worked with the RSC, Glastonbury Festival, HOME Manchester, amongst others.
Porscha Present is an artist working across theatre, live arts and dance, specialising in vocals and sound design. They have worked with Soho Theatre, Southbank Centre, Phoenix Arts Club, amongst others.
Produced by Beth Sitek, a queer, independent producer, having worked with Soho Theatre, The Pleasance and is a Youth Board Member at The Roundhouse.

HoneyBEE is a festival-driven show with a banging soundtrack, written and performed by Elle Dillon-Reams. This marathon feat of gig theatre tells the story of Kate, as she flits and stumbles through her twenties fuelled on highs and hedonism. Having had her world flipped at a festival, Kate finds herself on a journey to rediscover her identity and self-worth.
Within a heady mix of music, stand-up and spoken word, Kate's story represents a generation's search for purpose and the need to dance in the face of adversity.
It's Fleabag meets Kae Tempest with a dash of dirty bass.

About the Venue -
Getting to Tramshed
There are great public transport links via bus, train, DLR and Thames Clippers. Please note there is no nearby street parking but there are a number of car parks nearby.
Access at Tramshed
There is access to each floor via stairs or lift. The shows will take place in the theatre on the ground floor which has level access. Toilets are all-gender and there are accessible toilets on the ground floor and 1st floor.
