Emerging Desinger - The Heights

We, with the support from Thrive LDN, are seeking a young person (18-24 years old) to work as our Emerging Designer for our production of The Heights by Lisa McGee in April 2023. The production is part of the National Theatre's NT Connections 2023 festival. The Emerging Designer will work closely with our Emerging Director and Emerging Assistant Director and directly alongside Tramshed Production Manager Jane Mackintosh.

The Emerging Designer will work directly with the Emerging Director before the rehearsal period, to work with the full production team for the duration of the rehearsal period and work during at least the first performances of the show.

Closing date for applications: Friday 17th February 12pm

Interviews: Wednesday 22nd February 

Start date: Monday 3rd April

Hours: 20 hours until latest 22nd April

Rate of Pay: Fee of £1,117 plus an exclusive services weekly payment of £518 (two weeks) based on the Independent Theatre Council recommended rate.

Participation Assistant (Paid Intern)

The role of the Participation Assistant will be to support the Participation Manager in delivering all areas of the participation programme; to support the smooth running of activities including administrative support of projects and to ensure the well-being of participants through providing pastoral support to individuals where required.  The Participation Assistant will also be expected to develop their own facilitation skills through working as a support tutor on at least two programmes.

As part of this role, you will be part of the Jack Petchey Internship Programme with 30 other interns from different youth organisations in London and Essex. This development programme will involve you attending a launch conference, four professional development workshops through the year and a celebration event at the end of the programme. These opportunities will be paid and you will also receive an extra bursary of £1,000 for approved training.  You will also be matched with a mentor from another organisation to support you in your professional development.  The Jack Petchey Internship Programme training and events will take place in person in London and you will be expected to take full part in this programme alongside your role at Tramshed.

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)  

Term: Fixed-term 12-month contract 

Rate of Pay: £23,302 pa

Call Out for Creatives

Do you have a specialist skill that you can teach to others?

We are seeking to expand our database of creatives and practitioners who are confident in delivering workshops or masterclasses in their chosen artistic field. Throughout the year, Tramshed produces a wide variety of events for different groups of people and will continue to offer a diverse programme to tailor to our local communities, including festive activities. Recently, we have had creatives deliver workshops in:

  • Bollywood Dancing
  • Craft Making
  • Arts Marketing
  • Samba Drumming
  • Storytelling
  • Spoken Word
  • Producing
  • Moko Jumbie
  • Street Art
  • and plenty more!

Volunteers

As part of this transformative year, we are looking for people to join us as volunteers. This will help us bring fun and creativity to everyone in Greenwich and give back to the local community. We are looking for people who are interested in the arts, their local community, or those who want to learn something new!

We have a lot of events and different opportunities to get involved with, and at Tramshed there is a place for everyone. The ideal person will be someone who enjoys being a part of a team, helping others, and meeting new people.

We are looking to create a pool of volunteers from across our borough so that people can stay up to date with all of Tramshed's activities and get as involved as they like. We have events near you in locations such as Kidbrooke, Charlton and Blackheath, so you never have to travel far and you can join us for multiple events around the borough, the choice is completely up to you.
