Tramshed CEO Jeremy James to Leave After 21 Years

Tramshed CEO Jeremy James to Leave After 21 Years

Jeremy joined Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre (GLYPT) in 2003 at a time when the organisation was in need of change and a new direction. Through name changes, new buildings and many new faces, Jeremy has remained committed to the core principles of artistic expression and meaningful community engagement.

Under his leadership Tramshed has truly become a cornerstone for numerous communities in Woolwich, building long term partnerships with local Caribbean, Nigerian, Nepalese (Gurkha), Sikh and Armed Forces communities, among others. Tramshed has also been at the forefront of inclusivity, now proudly boasting a new home built with access very much in mind, and running two regular programmes for Adults with Learning Disabilities.

Speaking on the impact Jeremy has had, Chair of the Board of Directors Roger Wilson said “We thank Jeremy for his excellent leadership over the last 21 years. His vision, energy and expertise have been crucial to the ongoing success of Tramshed and its enduring resonance with the Woolwich community. A tireless, hard-working approach combined with integrity has endeared him to his colleagues and the many individuals and community groups served by the organisation. I’m sure all at Tramshed and its wide base of stakeholders will wish to join me in thanking him for his invaluable contribution, and wish him well.”

Bethan Tomlinson, our current Executive Director, will take over Jeremy’s duties as Interim Director from April 2024.
