"..if you really want to get involved, it's a lot easier than people think"

Our incredible Young Company of 14-18 year olds came together in April 2023 to make their production of The Heights by Derry Girls writer Lisa McGee. They worked all through the holiday to make their own adaptation, guided by the Creative Team - all under 25: Director Betty Williams Singh, Designer Lorelei Cairns, Stage Manager Alex Jaouen and our very own Participation Assistant Aaliyah James.

Part of their challenge was to host 2 other youth theatres - Hackney Shed and Churchill Theatre - when Tramshed became a hub for the National Theatre Connections Festival in South East London. We could not have been more impressed by their wit, wisdom, kindness and TALENT!

Don't take our word for it - you can see the fantastic photos of the project by Woolwich Resident and Photographer Aidan Brooks. You can hear the company tell you about the project themselves. This completely unedited Podcast was created by some of the group members, hosted by Front of House legend Kailif. We love that you are all "Tramshed Musketeers"!!!

Well worth a listen - and all thanks to the brilliant funders of this work, ThriveLDN. They trusted, resourced and brought joy to us from January to April - from the cold into the warmth. Follow them on social media for regular, free wellbeing support and read their impact report here. For the Young Company? Watch this space....
