Tramshed presents their first annual Found Arts Festival - a space for emerging artists to connect and challenge through seeing, doing, listening, discussing and creating.
The festival has been curated for anyone who identifies as an emerging artist in the performing arts industry, with or without training, and is aged 16+. Each day of the festival is designed to stretch creativity and equip participants with practical skills as well as allow space to discuss, connect and network with peers. This will be followed by a quality performance in the evening.
If you aren't an artist - don't worry! All our shows are open to the public, we promise to host a brilliant night of entertainment for an affordable price. You can book for events individually or grab a day ticket for only £10!

Created a Monster presents Contact as Play, a physical theatre workshop and forum space exploring how contact as a principle and subject can drive the creative process in funny, unexpected, subversive and moving ways. Using practices and exercises from Created a Monster's devising process (itself emerging from their background in Lecoq and long-term collaboration with David Glass), together we will discover how ensemble emerges through playful connection, and how this can feed our search for the stories we and our bodies want to tell.
Especially post-pandemic, where we have had to renegotiate our physical relationships to one another, we hope this workshop can be a window for all artists into how to connect, devise and create their own stories.
The company’s practice is rooted in non-judgment and open curiosity, creating a space for play and connection which will be enriching for physical theatre performers, students of theatre, writers, dramaturgs or any creative. All levels are welcome.
Created a Monster are a Resident Company at Tramshed for 2022.

Brother and Sister reel from a trauma that revisits them in fragments. It’s the first and last day of their lives as orphans together. In a surreal gulag-laboratory, they scrum towards freedom – whether through death, or the knitting together of memory as if flesh.
Conspiracy of Orphans is a tragicomic mime piece about empathy and abandonment, which follows the landscapes of intimacy between a brother and a sister re-experiencing a trauma that revisits them in fragments. Taking influence from Svetlana Alexievich’s Last Witnesses, unchildlike stories from Soviet children in WWII; Anne Michaels' Fugitive Pieces; the physical comedy of Buster Keaton; and the surreal eco-systems of Rene Magritte, CoO treads between the slapstick nature of sibling rivalry and the darkness which trauma pervades.
A trance-like soundscape of Russian electronica, the physical comedy of Buster Keaton, and the surreal aesthetics of Magritte combine to frame this silent comedy and quiet tragedy.
