WHAT IS GENERATOR?
Tramshed’s Generator programme is a performance opportunity for emerging and mid-career artists, companies and collectives to be part of a monthly double bill on the third Friday of every month.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Our definition of “emerging artist” has been selected by a group of professional artists aged under 30 in line with the Daric Gill Studios article you can find here. This includes all those who “are developing their artistic “voice” and likely has been practicing for less than 10 years, regardless of age or education. They are actively working to grow and sustain an exhibition record, gallery representation, honours or awards, reviews by art critics, grants, or publications etc.” Mid-career artists may want to use this opportunity to share works in progress or fully realised pieces.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Generator are looking for pieces that are no shorter than 40 minutes and no longer than 60 minutes. Generator aims to platform theatrical work. This includes (but is not limited to) plays, performance/live arts pieces, musicals, devised work, contemporary and popular performance etc.
PROGRAMMING
We want to give this opportunity to as many artists as possible. However, Tramshed reserve the right to decline submissions that don’t meet the desired quality or contain messaging counter to our ethics.
