Our Whatever Makes You Happy programme supports young people to develop social skills, boost confidence, build self-esteem, and express creativity through drama and is a specialised framework designed to support young people experiencing or at risk of developing poor mental health.
A Drama Practitioner and Arts Educator who specialises in supporting mental wellbeing through Drama and the Arts. Emma is also the co-founder of the feminist theatre company, Yellow Coat Theatre Company, and the Co-Artistic Director of Unblurred Lines, a Drama programme for young people that focuses on social issues. Emma is currently developing a children's show about consent with Unblurred Lines, which is being supported by Tramshed.
Meet Mycah -
A drama therapist for Whatever Makes You Happy group 14 - 18. Mycah has a background in performing arts and "enjoys the creativity and good laughs we have in the group". Mycah's support has helped some amazing teens grow and go on to new, bigger and better journeys in life.
Meet Darren -
Darren has worked on a number of projects with Tramshed/GLYPT over the years, including writing the community play JAM TOMORROW and the children’s show THE LITTLE MERMAID. He has delivered workshops for us at the Tower of London, for the Youth Theatre, been part of the speech and language Speak Out project and currently facilitates the Whatever Makes You Happy programme. He is about to embark on an archive project with the company. Darren also works as a writer, director and actor. He has written for EastEnders and Doctors for the BBC, along with Silver Street for BBC Radio and other films, TV and theatre projects. Check out Darren's website
Meet Frankie -
Frankie has recently graduated from Goldsmiths in Drama and Theatre Arts, where she specialised in stage management. Also, in her spare time, she enjoys writing poetry and creating new theatre with friends.
Meet Hayley -
A drama therapist and drama facilitator who is passionate about supporting the growth of people’s health and sense of self through drama, creativity and therapy. She has experience working with a variety of client groups including adoption, addiction, forensics, LGBTQ+ community, education and with people with physical and learning disabilities. Find out more
Meet Angela -
A director, theatre-maker, coach and facilitator. Angela is passionate about the positive changes theatre and imagination can bring about in all our lives. Working in professional theatre, with community-based groups of all ages, and in actor training, Angela is always developing her practice and giving back to others the creative skills and inspiration that theatre has given to her.
