As part of our offer for young people and emerging artists during lockdown, we started Progression Lab. It was a space on Zoom where people could come together and experiment with making theatre online. It was a great success and the work the group made was shared as part of Digitally Charged Festival.
'It was really good and a lovely group! I enjoyed it and found it interesting -even working on zoom made me inspired by the possibilities of the small box frame!' Progression Lab participant
'It was great! I liked that we got to really apply practically what we've been learning over the past sessions and the group is really tight and seems ready to play which makes it fun! I also really enjoyed experimenting with the backgrounds -it added another performance element and playfulness to the experimenting/improvs' Progression Lab participant
'Getting the chance to play: over the last few months my room has been: a bedroom, an office, a studio… But never a playground. Getting to explore last week left me feeling free! Throughout the week I looked for chances to play and find lightness in whatever I was doing.' Progression Lab participant
We are always creating new projects, workshops and initiatives for young emerging artists. Check out our Artist Development Programme page to read all about the Progression programme and to see what opportunities you could get involved with.
