Each season, Tramshed presents our Generator event for emerging artists to support companies and artists at varied points in their career to showcase their work and put their mark on the industry. Previous Generator events have premiered some fantastic work, and this event promises to be just as amazing.

Loop the Mood - Jaka Skapin and Cherilyn Albert
A live and improvised, voice and movement duet that explores what happens when we stop and examine a feeling that we would rather move away from. You'll be able to listen and watch, as well as join in from your own home if you want to. No mood is off the table!

Jaka Skapin is a Slovenian artist, composer and improviser based in London who interweaves singing and words into stories of connection in the now.

Cherilyn Albert is a London based dance artist and choreographer who enjoys dissecting and amplifying themes which may appear mundane to everyday life.

Ullambana - Cheeky Chin
In the Ullambana Sutra, the Buddha instructs his disciple Maudgalyayana on how to obtain liberation for his deceased mother in the hungry ghost realm. The year of 2020 has witnessed so much loss and grief in almost every aspect of our life. The project aims to find an emotional outlet for worries and anxiety in the uncertain times using East-Asian mythology, messages of love, and memories.

Cheeky Chin is a London-based collective of theatre makers of East Asian descent led by Yuyu Wang. We make innovative devised theatre performances of socio-political importance with our East Asian perspective as a female-led company collaborating with international artists.

Colour May Fade - Seb and Hannah
We explore the daunting yet liberating prospect of surrendering to another person’s gaze. The idea of releasing your inhibitions, then allowing yourself to truly see and be seen by another person.

We are Seb and Hannah, an emerging duet that specializes in physical and visual theatre. We take inspiration from the work of surrealist artists and draw on our eclectic repertoire of skills to create devised work that leaves audiences feeling self-reflective, connected, and ultimately, seen.

Re-tracing the Forgotten - Minnie Crook
This new work-in-progress live performance will explore themes of memory, loss and nostalgia whilst discovering how live digital works might measure the experience of personal and collective grief during this current time.

Minnie Crook (she/her) is an interdisciplinary performance artist based in Glasgow. Originally from Leamington Spa, she explores ideas of memory and nostalgia to investigate the distance between herself and her family members. Through a continued collaboration with them, she is concerned with reclaiming the ‘undiscovered past’ and process’ of ascertaining her personal Gaelic history, lineage and her genealogical line.

Walking Cats - Ants Theatre
You may have heard that one cat has nine lives. But what if, instead, nine cats shared one life?
A grey cat walks towards a pine tree on Kilburn High Street. It sees itself. Nine worlds merge. Under a pine tree on Kilburn High Street.

Zhaolin Zhou is a theatre-maker, performer, object operator from China, currently a MFA Advanced Theatre Practice Year 2 student of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He is one Ant from Ants Theatre. He wants to use his experience to explore the journey of who we are in this rapidly changing world.

'The UnPlausibles' highlights how misinformation and disinformation permeate online news cycles and take many different guises. This mockumentary sees 6 clownish caricatures from all walks of life using social media to share their very strong opinions about the world

Knickers Theatre finds humour in the unlikeliest of places. We revel in the ridiculous and celebrate silliness. Our work creates a genuine connection with the audience sparking conversation and laughter .

Out of the Blue Theatre is a young avant-garde arts company formed in 2020. Our members hail from opposite ends of the globe and our work transcends borders and genres. We currently specialise in using creating audio-immersive experiences and seek to develop work that is cathartic spiritually and intellectually.

Mundane Radio - Silver Pelican Entertainment (Ltd.)
A radio comedy on a fictional small alternative radio station, Krash FM, with two presenters who are struggling to fill up their time slot.

Silver Pelican Entertainment- a newly-formed writing and performance company by Edward Jobling and James Eagles. Edward is a trained actor (East 15, 2020 graduate) and James is a motorsport journalist, broadcaster and freelance voiceover artist.

I once dreamt that I was a peacock - Vân Bùi
Experimenting with filming shadows and pondering about dreams resulted in this short video.

Van Bui is a Vietnamese documentary filmmaker and photographer living in Slough, England. Since the pandemic she started to make short experimental videos to capture her experience in lockdown as well as exercising her creativity while being at home.

FOLD//ER - Ella Tighe
FOLD // ER is a performance through video conferencing which investigates the space of the desktop as a place for performance. Investigating an overall research into 'Surrender', it looks into the relations between spectator and performer when control is given and lost.

Ella Tighe is a dancer, performer and yoga practitioner/teacher. She has a BA in Dance Making & Performance and is currently completing an MA in Performance Practices from ArtEZ (NL). Current work is interested in the phenomenon of surrender and its hospitality with audience members.

Lockdown Listening: Paper 1 - Poor Mother
“Lockdown Listening: Paper 1” is a performative exam, where participants will take part in a mock, GCSE-style test paper. There is no way to fail, but cheating is impossible.

Luce Stewart is a non-binary performance artist and writer currently studying at the Slade, UCL. They publish work under the artist name ‘Poor Mother’, a performative drag persona. Poor Mother acts as a vehicle for Stewart to confront the intricacies of their identity under the veil of character, touching on themes of exposure, gender, disability, nostalgia and the surreal.

Making Masks on Zoom - Alex Leak
Making masks on zoom is an exploration of the feelings we all go through whilst presenting ourselves, two actors performing a play have to begin by saying their name, but sadly they struggle to get that far exploring how they want to present themselves. All under the confines of a zoom call. Pushing zoom to its limits.

Alex is a Actor Writer Maker and Creator of all things strange. After graduating from Drama school he has working on and producing his own work throughout the pandemic and collaborating with others along his way. Above all Alex is interested most in the wierd and wacky things that make us all human!
